Jessica Mendels is the producer/director of the film 29monthsinexile. This film signifies a further exploration of the themes of family history, memory, and loss, that have been central to her body of work as a photographer. Her undergarduate degree is from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in Photography with and a minor in Art History and Theory. She exhibited her photographic and installation art for several years and worked as Director of Photography at Gomez Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland (1994-96), where she curated exhibits and traveled internationally, promoting American artists and cultivating new talent in Latin America and Europe. Ms. Mendels was a photography and film teacher at a private high school in Maryland for two years (1996-98) before moving to San Francisco, where she studied psychology and Buddhism. She completed her Masters degree in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2004, and is now a Psychotherapy Intern in private practice.
